Dr. Steven J. Daniels, Sr.
Dr. Steven J. Daniels Sr. serves as the Lead Pastor of The Second Baptist Church of Ann Arbor Michigan. As a gifted and passionate preacher, teacher, and visionary, Dr. Daniels strives to spread the message of Jesus Christ to everyone.
Since April 2015, Dr. Daniels has been instrumental in implementing vision to lead the church spiritually, financially, and numerically, with a keen focus of advancing the Kingdom of GOD, and having impact in the community.
Prior to his arrival at Second Baptist Church, Dr. Daniels led the Smithfield Baptist Church in Gloucester, Virginia for seven years.
Dr. Daniels earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications from Norfolk State University, a Master of Divinity degree from The Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from United Theological Seminary.
Dr. Daniels received extensive Clinical Pastoral Education training in the Riverside Health System in Newport News, VA. There he provided pastoral care and counseling as a staff chaplain. In 2018 Dr. Daniels was appointed to the board of the Ann Arbor Housing Commission.
He exemplifies leadership in his home as the husband of Elder Dr. Trina L. Daniels, and the proud father of three children: Davion, Yhasman, and Steven II (S.J.). Dr. Daniels models above reproach behavior and integrity in his public and private life.
